April Showers Bring May Flowers...

Haha, you didn't see that one coming, did you? I know, I know - I'm a nerd...

Happy April! Here we are, a quarter of the year passed - how are your 2012 goals shaping up?

This month, I'm participating in the WEGO Health Blog's "Health Activist Writer's Month Challenge" - a month-long writing workshop for people interested in health and inspiring change in others!

Each day, WEGO will provide a prompt and I'll be incorporating it into my daily blog post - today is Day 1!

Creating a Health Time Capsule - Imagine you are creating a time capsule containing items that represented you and your health focus that wouldn't be opened until the year 2112... what would it contain?

Hmm... this is a tough one. I would imagine that a lot will have changed in 100 years - will they even know what half of the things in my capsule are?

I guess if I were to choose a few items that best represented me and my health focus, I'd have to start with a few favorites!

Of course, I know people TODAY
who wouldn't know an NES if they saw it...

My health focus is primarily establishing a balance between eating well/exercising and enjoying the not-so-occasional indulgence - so of course, my time capsule would have to have items that represent both!

I'd probably throw in some current reading material related to healthy living - that way the people 100 years from now would gain insight into the trends and fitness fads of our time!

I wonder what people 100 years from now would think of my time capsule.

If they had good taste (and if shelf-life wasn't a concern), I bet they'd pop open that Strongbow and guzzle it down.

They'd probably rock the TPG tank top too, because let's be honest, it's freakin' adorable (why wait 100 years? Get yours here!)

They'd probably be surprised (and in some cases, horrified) by some of the fads/trends of our time - Cross Fit? P90X? Eliminating entire food groups from our diet? Wearing skinny jeans?

Just think about how we might view fashion/fitness trends from the early 1900s!
