If the shoe fits...

Hello my dears! 

How are you on this lovely Wednesday morning? 

I'm surprisingly good - I woke up without my alarm clock and I'm feeling pretty refreshed despite staying up to watch the Olympics last night (again)!

Last night while watching Sanya Richards-Ross kick some butt in the 200m qualifier (I'm sort of obsessed with her hair), I had sort of a sad thought... I was watching some of the most elite athletes in the world... with my ass basically glued to my couch... again...

Sure, I'm nursing an ankle injury, but I felt so lazy in that moment. And then I realized that "that moment" had happened a lot over the last week and a half while watching the Olympics! 

And if the response I got to this realization from twitter is any indication, I'm not the only one! So I put together this couch-(and ankle injury)-friendly workout to counteract my laziness! 

It's not much, but it's SOMETHING - and I figure if I do it during every commercial break (of which there are many) with a challenging weight, I may even get some definition in my arms!

Have you been glued to your couch during this Olympics? 

I have to say, being injured sucks. My ankle is feeling a lot better, but I don't want to get back to running too early only to hurt it again, so I'm giving it another day or two... which REALLY sucks because I got new shoes in the mail yesterday and I'm dying to break them in! 

Yep. I finally broke down and bought a pair of Saucony Kinvara 3s. I've been running in the Kinvara 2s since January and loved them from the start... and of course, I'm a firm believer of the saying: 

I find this to be especially true with running shoes. When I find a pair that works for me, I tend to stock up because you never know when it'll be discontinued or changed!

Running shoes can literally make or break your foot run, so choosing the right shoe is even more important. Believe me - I've gone through my fair share of experiences with "the wrong shoes" (for me)!

Hence why I have four pairs of the Kinvara 2s...

The white/pink pair is the newest addition to my Kinvara 2 collection (which also came in the mail yesterday - my insurance plan in case the 3s don't work out)... but I have to admit that the day-glow yellow is my favorite of the bunch! 

So yeah, I stocked up on my trusty 2's (which I was able to get super cheap online since the 3s are out), but since I've heard so many great things about the 3s, I had to give them a try... I'll let you know what I think after I get a few miles on them!

Since my workouts have been basically non-existent thanks to the ol' ankle (and my Olympic laziness), I've been trying to focus on eating well this week and (with one exception - takeout sushi), preparing meals at home.
